Marijuana Leaves

Can You Smoke Marijuana Leaves?

Can you smoke cannabis leaves? Many smokers ask this question on a regular basis. Normally, producers grow marijuana to get high-quality buds for smoking. However, you can do many things with other parts of the cannabis plant, such as roll a joint with marijuana leaves.

However, first and foremost: Yes, you can smoke cannabis leaves. Tons of smokers have smoked cannabis leaves in the past, but it didn’t result in high customer satisfaction due to a lack of THC.

How Are Marijuana Leaves Different From Buds?

Cannabis leaves are different from buds in various ways. Buds gained quick fame because of their high THC content. As a result, leaves faded into the background. However, many people of today’s generation crush weed leaves and place them in a hookah or a pipe. Marijuana leaves can also be an excellent substitute if you run out of cannabis.

Some people aren’t willing to add leaves to their marijuana because it changes the flavors and the texture of the smoke. Others prefer tobacco because it adds spice to their buds’ flavors. In addition, some people dislike smoking cannabis leaves because they can create headaches. So it’s better to crush leaves and mix them with other strains.

Also, you should know that you can’t smoke all the weed leaves; in fact, you can’t smoke the largest leaves. That’s because growers typically use fertilizers when growing marijuana plants. In turn, the leaves contain the highest amount of chemicals.

With that said, you can smoke cannabis leaves and get high. Here are more reasons why you might want to:

Cannabinoids Are All Over the Plant

Contrary to some people’s thoughts, cannabinoids are all over the plant because resin glands are all over the plant. However, even if the leaves contain cannabinoids, they only have small traces of THC and CBD contents.

Also, there are different types of leaves on cannabis plants. Everyone who looks closely at the buds knows they contain a large proportion of trichome-sparked leaves. However, when you factor in the amount of THC and CBD, you shouldn’t put the leaves that surround the buds in the same category as the big-fan leaves.

Another thing to consider is how many leaves you’ll need to smoke because they contain small traces of THC and CBD. In general, a handful of weed leaves only contain between zero and 4% of CBD and THC; therefore, a handful of leaves is unlikely to do the trick.

What Are the Types of Marijuana Leaves You Can Smoke?

Not all leaves are of the same quality. You must know this before you smoke them. Typically, leaves vary from strain to strain. If you really want to smoke leaves, you should know which type is best suited for this.

Sugar Leaves/Trimmings

You can often find these leaves/trimmings near the buds. These are the good parts of the plant other than the buds, and they are relatively small compared to other parts. The marijuana industry named them sugar leaves because they are concealed in trichomes, which gives them a sugary white coat appearance. They also contain high THC levels.

Leaf trimmings are associated with these leaves because trimmings are just plain cuttings of the leaves that can be added to the eaves. So, rather than cutting off the entire leaves, you just trim them and add them to your mixture.

Both sugar leaves and trimmings can possess THC because trichomes cover them. However, it will not give you an overpowering high as the buds do, but they can certainly get the job done.

Fan Leaves

Although sugar leaves are closer to the buds, the fan leaves grow the farthest from the buds. Fan leaves play a crucial role in soaking up sunlight and other nutrients for the growth of your marijuana plant. However, fan leaves don’t contain as much THC content as sugar leaves do.

Some fan leaves, however, may contain high THC amounts, so it’s best to try them. You should check the stems to see whether they contain trichomes. However, in the end, if you want to get really high, you’ll need a large number of leaves before you even feel lightheaded, let alone feel high.

Are There Other Alternatives?

Marijuana Edibles

Cannabis edibles are rapidly growing in popularity; however, cannabis edibles have some downsides if you only ingest them orally. For example, it will not be transported directly to your endocannabinoid system but instead, your liver.

When your liver absorbs cannabinoids, it only amounts to a small portion. Therefore, you’ll only absorb a little bit of the cannabis, so eating cannabis might not sound good at all.

Cannabis Extracts

The best way to deal with small amounts of marijuana leaves is to extract them. There are many ways to do this, but the safest and easiest way is to extract them in an Ice-O-lator hash maker. With this equipment, you can only extract the trichomes that are sticking in the leaves of the stem.

Although the extracted amount is small when compared to regular buds, doing this won’t hurt you whatsoever. In honesty, whether you can smoke weedleaves is up to you, there are many alternatives out there that maximize its uses. So use your imagination!
